Social Media/Marketing internship

We are seeking a creative and eager individual who has excellent knowledge of social media trends and is comfortable using all social media channels. Basic knowledge in the sports and fitness industry is preferred. 

Intern will work under the supervision of the Marketing Coordinator for Optimum Performance Sports (OPS) who is responsible for the marketing and communications for all departments of OPS. OPS departments include: OPS Fitness Club, OPS Sports Performance training, OPS Football Academy, OPS Basketball Academy, and OPS Sports Medicine.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create weekly and monthly content calendars
  • Post on social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
  • Develop new strategies for increasing engagement 
  • Analyze data to gauge success of campaigns
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
  • Follow trends and find a way to apply them to this position 
  • Create compelling graphics to be shared across social media platforms
  • Create and edit short-form videos 
  • Ensure brand messaging is consistent

Requirements:

  • Student looking for credit or individual looking to gain experience
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms 
  • Basic graphic design knowledge preferred but not required
  • Video editing experience preferred but not required 
  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration
  • Ability to work evenings and some weekends

SPORTS PERFORMANCE Coach Internship

The OPS Sports Performance internship program is an immersive learning opportunity that will drastically improve your coaching skills and knowledge of the sport performance field. This internship is a hands-on, learn-by-doing based program in which you will be coaching a variety of athletes.  Our curriculum includes weekly educational meetings and discipline specific projects to enhance your overall learning experience while at OPS. Our goal for you is to develop a deep understanding of the why’s of our programming and coaching methodology here at OPS in addition to acquiring valuable
knowledge from all aspects of the athletic performance field. Spots are extremely limited and very competitive so give us your best! We look forward to you joining us.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate to wide range of athletes and clientele
  • Teaching and coaching the warm-up (Soft Tissue, Mobility, Activation, Dynamic/Coordinative
    Movement)
  • Strength Training Instruction (Fundamental Strength Development, Motor Control/Stability etc.)
  • Sprint training (Mechanical breakdown, assessing deficiencies)
  • Conditioning (Targeting appropriate energy system for desired adaptation)
  • Understanding basic human anatomy/physiology and how it relates to sport and exercise
    movement and to help reduce sport related injuries
  • Gym set up, cleaning and daily housekeeping tasks
  • Attendance at weekly meetings, creation/development of a discipline specific presentation and
    project with a hands on portion for immediate feedback and learning opportunity

MUST BE A COLLEGE STUDENT ACTIVELY PURSUING AN UNDER-GRADUATE OR GRADUATE DEGREE IN EXERCISE SCIENCE OR RELATED FIELD

What to Expect

Barre combines ballet inspired moves with elements of Pilates, yoga and strength training. This class will focus on high reps of small range of movements working those intricate muscle groups for a total body burn. This class is unheated!

OPS Chiropractic care and therapy

Dr. Goins and Dr. Russell’s goal is to get to the root cause of your pain or movement impairment.  Using a combination of muscle testing, functional and orthopedic testing, and gait analysis, they work to more clearly identify what is driving the dysfunction.  Then a personalized game plan is put together, including at-home exercises aimed at isolating and building up the proper areas.  Whether it’s getting out of pain or boosting performance, they can give you the tools to get you there.
